MSBS-Medical Sciences: Admission Criteria
The selection process for admission into the MSBS-Medical Sciences program is competitive and merely meeting minimum and/or recommended entrance requirements does not guarantee admission.听听
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent U.S. Resident at the time of application.
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
- All minimum pre-medical course requirements per 淫妻社 COMLS must be completed prior to admission into the MSBS-Medical Sciences program. For specifics on prerequisites for admission into 淫妻社 medical school click here. Applications missing any of the mandatory pre-med courses listed by 淫妻社 COMLS will be rejected.听
UNDERGRADUATE GPA, OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS and VALID MCAT SCORES
- Official undergraduate transcripts confirming degree and transcripts from all colleges/universities you have attended. Applications will not be reviewed until coursework grades and degrees have been verified through official transcripts.
- An undergraduate cumulative GPA of at least 2.90 is required.听听
- A composite MCAT score of at least 496, taken within five years from the anticipated matriculation year to medical school, is required.听Applicants with MCAT scores below 496 are encouraged to contact the Program Director to discuss their individual circumstances and potential program options.听
- FLEXIBLE Timeline Option:听Students may also choose a Flexible Timeline option, allowing them to defer their medical school application/interview to the immediately following cycle to gain additional time to improve their MCAT score. For details on the Flex option, contact the Program Director Dr. Guillermo Vazquez.
- GRE or DAT scores are not accepted for admission to the program.听
- An undergraduate cumulative GPA of at least 2.90, a composite MCAT score of at least 496 and a cGPA of at least 3.0 in the program's curriculum are all required to be considered for the medical school interview. Meeting these criteria and receiving a guaranteed interview does not ensure admission to the UTCOMLS-MD program.听

Letter of recommendation
- One letter of recommendation (LOR) must be submitted. Instructions for LOR submission are provided in PostbacCAS.
- Pre-med advisory committee letters are accepted with all signatures.
- Letters of recommendation submitted with your AMCAS application are NOT acceptable.
Statement of Purpose
- In the Statement of Purpose you should elaborate on all the reasons why you decided to apply to the MSBS-Medical Sciences program. Personal statements taken from your AMCAS application are NOT acceptable.
Application
Applications to the MSBS-Medical Sciences program must be submitted through the PostbacCAS鈩� (Liaison-powered Centralized Application Service) for 听postbaccalaureate programs. Applications will not be reviewed until the PostbacCAS application is completed and verified, and the 淫妻社 Application fee is submitted.听

Interview
