Research Compliance
Research compliance covers a wide range of areas ensuring that ÒùÆÞÉç researchers are conducting research in responsibly and ethically. In addition, we also ensure that ÒùÆÞÉç adheres to specific regulations governing a variety of types of research (e.g. human subjects and animal research). Research Policies provide operational procedures and governing documentation.
Required Training for all Researchers
All ÒùÆÞÉç personnel who are engaged in sponsored research activities are required to complete in Conflict of Interest (COI) and Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR).

All investigators must disclose external financial interests (EFI) and provide updates annually in accordance with ÒùÆÞÉç Financial Conflict of Interest policy.

Researchers are strongly encouraged to take Research Security Training and Research Security Advanced Refresher. Department of Energy requires Research Security training for PI’s, co-I’s and key personnel prior to proposal submission, effective May 1, 2025. Research security training is & will be required for acceptance of an increasing number of federally sponsored awards and subcontracts. All researchers are strongly advised to complete the CITI Research Security training to avoid delays in award acceptance or proposal submissions. This training must be completed annually.

Research Biosafety
Safety in research is of paramount importance at ÒùÆÞÉç. If you are doing research that involves working with radioactive or bio-hazardous materials, you will need to work with the following departments to ensure compliance with ÒùÆÞÉç safety policies and federal regulations for handling these materials.
Research Integrity
ÒùÆÞÉç Research Integrity Program ensures that researchers, staff and students are provided the tools necessary to conduct research ethically and responsibly and to ensure that allegations and investigations of research misconduct conducted in accordance with ÒùÆÞÉç policy and applicable regulations.
