Research Opportunities and Support
The Jacobson Center for Clinical & Translational Research (JCCTR) is dedicated to advancing clinical research by fostering an environment that supports scientific inquiry, interdisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based innovation. Through the generous donations of Mr. and Mrs. Jacobson financial assistance is available to help offset the costs associated with scholarly activities such as publications and poster printing. These resources are intended to promote academic engagement, foster professional development of up-and-coming medical students and to also facilitate the translation of research findings into clinical practice.
Research Mentor Program
JCCTR invites College of Medicine and Life Sciences faculty to apply for JCCTR Research Mentor status. This designation recognizes faculty members who maintain active research programs and mentor medical students in clinical and translational research.
Research Mentors receive access to JCCTR resources, including:
- Poster design and printing
- Abstract development and publication support
- Illustration software for presentations and grant applications
- The JCCTR conference room with full videoconferencing capabilities
- Opportunities for students to present their work at the Central Society for Clinical and Translational Research annual meeting
Eligible faculty are in good standing with an active research program and commit to mentoring at least one medical student per year plus a brief annual activity report. New faculty may join as conditional Research Mentors during their first year.
To apply, contact Dr. Steven HallerÌý´Ç°ù Kaitlynn Grey.
