Dec. 15, 2023 | Happy holidays to the Young Executive Scholars! The Y.E.S. Program hosted its holiday celebration at the Jones Leadership Academy of Business. Students received custom 鈥榊oung Executive Scholars鈥 backpacks, symbolizing achievement and responsibility. Distinguished guests from 淫妻社, including Dr. Dilip Das and Ms. Valerie Walston, attended, along with 淫妻社 alumnus Brent Cousino.

Dec. 14, 2023 | 淫妻社, responding to Ohio's legalization of recreational marijuana, offers innovative online cannabis management certificate programs through the John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation and the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The Neff College's Dr. Brandon Cohen is a key figure in this initiative and a senior lecturer in the management department. He imparts crucial knowledge through his courses in Cannabis Law and Cannabis Entrepreneurship, equipping students with a comprehensive understanding of the complex legal landscape and diverse business opportunities within the cannabis industry.

Dec. 13, 2023 | Saige Warren, soon-to-be graduate of the Neff College of Business and Innovation at 淫妻社, is set to start his career as an outside sales representative at International Paper in Dallas, TX. His journey at 淫妻社, marked by leadership and personal growth, led to this opportunity after a successful internship, facilitated by Deirdre Jones. Warren's transformation from a laid-back high school student to a driven professional highlights the impact of his education and experiences at the university.

Dec. 8, 2023 | The Neff College of Business and Innovation hosted its third annual Innovathon Competition this fall, focusing on real-world business challenges.

The event spotlighted Complete Converting, Inc., a local, female-led custom cut and sew facility. Students engaged deeply with the business, analyzing its challenges in areas like marketing and supply chain, and proposed innovative solutions via a written report. The competition culminated on December 1, with finalists presenting their ideas, followed by a Q&A session.

Dec. 7, 2023 | Dr.听Kainan Wang, department chair and professor of finance, was recently featured in an article by McGill discussing his academic transition from medical research to finance. "It's a journey close to my heart, reflecting the diverse paths we can take in our careers," said Dr. Wang.

Nov. 30, 2023 | 淫妻社 recently received over听$1 million from Ohio's Choose Ohio First scholarship program, reinforcing its commitment to STEM education. This funding will bolster key programs, particularly听Information Systems听and听Operations and Supply Chain Management, among others.

Nov. 28, 2023 | For insight into financial issues relating to the military, WalletHub turned to a panel of experts including our very own Shawn Tysiak, senior lecturer of finance.

Focusing on sustainable fashion, Dr. Napier emphasized the urgent need to address the harmful practices prevalent in the fashion industry, such as environmental damage, worker exploitation and promoting unrealistic beauty standards.

Nov. 15, 2023 | The Accounting Department was thrilled to host its "Meet, Greet & Eat" event on Wednesday, Nov. 15 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Attendees engaged with a panel of esteemed accounting professionals who shared valuable insights into the field, discussing career paths and what employers are looking for. Following the discussion, visitors joined a complimentary reception. It was a perfect opportunity for accounting students to network, forge professional relationships and learn more about the industry.

Nov. 13, 2023 | Xavier Gallo, a 淫妻社 cross country athlete, turned a 2021 stress fracture into a photography opportunity, capturing significant moments for Toledo Athletics. His talent earned him a marketing internship, leading to video production work and a return to competition in 2022. Gallo also revitalized the Launchpad Student Section, balancing his roles as an athlete, student, and creative talent.

Nov. 8, 2023 | Larry Stephens, a senior wide receiver on the Rocket football team, overcame initial challenges with his cochlear implant to excel in football and academics. Born with a condition leading to deafness, he adapted to the implant, thriving in sports with a specialized helmet and becoming a role model, especially for the deaf community. Balancing his football ambitions with serious academic goals, Stephens is set to graduate in marketing and potentially pursue an M.B.A., embodying the spirit and resilience of a typical Toledo Football player.

The Etiquette Dinner event is a formal dining experience for business students to help them develop their fine-dining business skills. The event is designed to provide students with a hands-on learning experience in a formal dining setting, where they can practice proper etiquette and networking skills.

Dr. Richmond Pope, a renowned educator, forensic accountant, author and filmmaker, explored the intriguing connection between ethical lapses and financial fraud. Drawing from her extensive research and her latest book, "Fool Me Once: Scams, Stories, and Secrets from the Trillion Dollar Fraud Industry," she offered personal insights gleaned from in-depth conversations with white-collar offenders, whistleblowers and victims of fraud.

Oct. 25, 2023 | The Neff Finance Department hosted an event for students keen on diving into the world of banking. The evening kicked off at 5:30 p.m. with a dinner buffet, and shortly after, a panel of finance professionals provided insights into their career journeys and what life in the banking industry looks like. Bill Life, Fifth Third Bank's Senior VP of Commercial Banking and John Skibski, CFO of Waterford Bank, broke down various aspects of banking and provided guidance and insight to these ambitious students striving to begin their careers in finance.

April 20, 2023 | Congratulations to Ambrea and Kevin Mikolajczyk, co-owners of ARK Restoration and Construction, on receiving the 2023 Business Pacemaker Award. Together they are transforming neighborhoods and restoring historic architecture in Toledo.


April 17, 2023 | Since the end of her final season wearing the Midnight Blue and Gold last fall, Brooke Stonehouse has added a lot to her plate. She is interning in the marketing office in the 淫妻社 Athletic Department and with Buckeye Broadband writing business disclaimers and updating their website. She also works part time for The Bottom Line, a local CPA firm, and for Data Ongoing, a NetSuite company.


April 14, 2023 | Meet听Caden Coy, the 淫妻社 freshman who is taking the business world by storm. With his exceptional drive to succeed, Caden established his own LLC before he even took his first college class. In just his second semester at 淫妻社, he has already secured top-level internships in sales and financing, usually reserved for juniors and seniors.

March 15, 2023 | We are thrilled to announce that Kripke Enterprises, Inc. has been inducted into the Dean's Gold Leadership Circle at the John B. and Lillian E. March 8, 2023 | Members of the Neff College of Business and Innovation's recruitment team had the pleasure of attending the Toledo Area West College Fair from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7 in the 淫妻社 Student Union Auditorium.

Roughly 400 local high school students and their families were provided with the chance to gain further insight into our academic programs, extracurricular activities and available college resources.

"The fashion waste crisis is a significant contributing factor to climate change and environmental degradation evident throughout the entire global value chain. About $500b of value is lost every year due to overproduction and unsold merchandise that are then irresponsibly discarded into landfills and oceans," she said.


Feb. 28, 2023 | Competing against professional sales students from 36 universities nationwide, Brendyn Pyles, fourth from left, a 淫妻社 junior double majoring in professional sales and finance, was the Junior Division Gold Bracket Champion at the eighth annual 淫妻社 Invitational Sales Competition.

Schmidt School of Professional Sales in the John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation.

Feb. 2, 2023 | Congratulations to Dr. Katy Johnson and Dr. Iryna Pentina for receiving URFO Small Grant Support Awards. The URFO Small Awards Program provides a one time grant up to $1,000 per academic year to tenured and tenure-track faculty members to support research and scholarship activities. The Program provides limited funds when other sources of funds, such as faculty start-up funds, departmental funds and grant funds, are not available. A total of $20,000 is expected to support this program for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Feb. 8, 2023 | Volunteers and donations are needed for 淫妻社鈥檚 annual hunger-relief, food-packing event Friday and Saturday, Feb. 10 and 11, in the Health Education Building on Main Campus. The event is hosted by 淫妻社鈥檚 Klar Leadership Academy, a student organization led by the John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation, in partnership with Feed My Starving Children, a Minnesota-based nonpro铿乼 organization dedicated to providing nutritious meals to听children听in need around the world.

Jan. 30, 2023 | Congratulations to Daniel Costello and Raina Dawson, two Neff College of Business and Innovation alumni, for being named to the 鈥20 Under 40鈥 list, an annual recognition of 20 distinguished community leaders from northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan who are younger than 40 years old.

Jan. 24, 2023 | In its first opportunity, the new online M.B.A. program in the John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation placed 185 out of 366 on U.S. News & World Report's list, ranking higher than about half of the other online M.B.A. programs across the country. The Online Bachelor of Business Program also climbed to No. 58, placing in the top 30%.

Sept. 26, 2022 | Danielle Lutman, '15, '17, has been awarded the The Edward H. Schmidt Outstanding Young Alum award. The听 award is presented to a University graduate who is 40 years of age or younger in recognition of outstanding achievement in their career while providing leadership and noteworthy service to the Alumni Association, University or community. This award is named in memory of Ed Schmidt, a 1942 alumnus and a longtime supporter of The University of Toledo's Neff College of Business and Innovation.

Study Abroad Course Provides Students Opportunity to 鈥楧ip Their Toe鈥 in International Travel.

Sept. 23, 2022 | The focus of the study abroad class is on the economic, political and cultural aspects of the countries the students visit. And as part of the trip, students have guided tours to various companies and tourist sites. The class is a 10-day trip, including travel days, that provides three credit hours to undergraduate and graduate students. A group of 25-30 students normally participate each year, and while the class is part of the Neff College of Business and Innovation, it is open to all students in the University.

Sept. 22, 2022 | Steven Klar, 1969, has been named the College's 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient. Mr. Klar is the president of The Klar Organization, a diversified real estate development firm centralized in New York City. Klar has a long list of charities and humanitarian efforts he supports, including the endowment of the Klar Leadership Academy at 淫妻社 in 2014.

Sept. 1, 2022 | Ricardo Flores Jr, a senior majoring in marketing, came to 淫妻社 as a first-generation college student. Through campus involvement, hard work in the classroom and giving back to the community, Ricardo continues to embody what it means to be a successful Business Rocket despite a lack of guidance early in his collegiate career.
