Records Management
The University Libraries Office of Records Management is the office designated by the University President with the responsibility for administering the University of Toledo records management program in accordance with the records retention manual.Ìý The records management program provides internal services to multiple departments and offices throughout the campus. Refer to ÒùÆÞÉç Policy 3364-5-05 for the policy details.
Records management services include:

- Developing and managing retention schedules.
- Establishing and maintaining policies and procedures for the systematic management of ÒùÆÞÉç records. Ìý
- Demonstrating regulatory compliance, especially with Ohio Revised code and federal law. Ìý
- Providing litigation support. Ìý

ÒùÆÞÉç uses the document “Records Retention for Public Colleges and Universities in the State of Ohio: A Manual“ created by the Inter-University Council of Ohio.Ìý The purpose of the manual is the determination of minimum guidelines for the retention of records as required by law and sensible practice. The Office of Records Management of the ÒùÆÞÉç has created a General Retention Schedule based on the IUC manual which gives more specific types of documents you may have in your offices.
