Ìý Uploading Files
Upload files
- Select Upload.
Note: In Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, select Upload > Files. ÌýSelect the file or files you want to upload. - Select Open.
Note: You can also upload files by opening File Explorer, selecting the files you want to upload, and dragging them to OneDrive for Business.Ìý
Upload folders in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome
- Select Upload > Folder.
- Select the folder.
- Select Upload.
- Select New > Folder to create a folder.
- From the folder you want to upload, select the files.
- Drag and drop the files into the new folder you created in OneDrive.
Creating and saving Files in OneDrive
- SelectÌýNewÌýand choose the type of file you want.
- To rename the file, click the file name in the title bar, for exampleÌýDocument, and then type a name.
All changes are automatically saved in the Office online apps, so when you go back to OneDrive, your new file is already saved.
Create a file in an Office desktop app
- Open a desktop app, like a Word, Excel , or PowerPoint.
- SelectÌýFile > Save As.
- Select your OneDrive work or school account.
- Type a name for the file and selectÌýSave.
Create folders
- SelectÌýNew > Folder.
- Type a name for the folder and selectÌýCreate.
- Select the files you want and drag them into the folder.
How to Use the Mobile App
With OneDrive on your mobile device, you can access, upload, and share your files from anywhere. The mobile app lets you:

Open your files in Word, Excel, or PowerPoint to edit them.

Share, delete, move, or rename files.

Save files offline so you can view or edit when you're not connected to the internet.

Create new files and folders, take photos or videos, and upload new files.

UseÌýScanÌýto turn a document, whiteboard, or business card into a PDF that you can annotate and share with others.

Switch between multiple OneDrive accounts.
- To sign in, enter yourÌýUTAD username@rockets.utoledo.edu.ÌýThis will prompt the UTAD sign in page similar to the MyUT sign in page.Ìý
- Delete the @rockets.utoledo.edu from the username box and continue to sign in using your UTAD credentials.
ÌýMobile Device Setup for OneDrive
- Download the OneDrive app:

For Android phones and tablets, download the OneDrive app from theÌý.

For iPhones and iPads, download the OneDrive app from the App Store.

- Sign in with your First.Last@rockets.utoledo.edu account.
- To add another account, like your personal OneDrive account:

For Android phones and tablets, tap theÌýMenuÌýiconÌý
Ìýand then tapÌýAdd another account. -
For iPhones and iPads, tap theÌýAccounts and SettingsÌýiconÌý
Ìýand then tapÌýAdd account.

- If you have the Office mobile apps, like Word, Excel or PowerPoint, you can also open, view, and edit your OneDrive files from there.
Restoring Files in OneDrive
Delete files
- Select the file or files you want to delete.
- SelectÌýDelete. The files move to theÌýRecycle bin.
Restore files
Select theÌýRecycle bin.

If you want all of your files back, selectÌýRestore all items

Or, select only the files you want and clickÌýRestore
The file is returned to its original location.
Note:ÌýItems in the recycle bin are automatically deleted 93 days after they'reÌýput there. If your recycle bin is full, the oldest items will be automatically deleted after three days. See more information aboutÌýÌýfor work or school accounts.
Sharing Files in OneDrive
- Share a file or folder.
- With a file open or a file or folder selected, selectÌýShare.
- If you are working on your desktop and the file hasn’t been saved to OneDrive or SharePoint, select a location you want to upload your file.
- Select the down arrow to choose permissions for the link you will be sharing. Options include:

- AnyoneÌý(if your organization allows it)
- People in your organization
- Specific people
- SelectÌýApplyÌýto save the permissions.
- Enter the name or email address of people you want to share with.
- Type a message and selectÌýSend, or you can selectÌýCopy LinkÌýand send the link in an email or add it to a file.
